When I lived in Portland one of the breathtaking places I loved to visit was the Japanese Gardens. As you know, I had nothing but a point and click in those days and rarely had even that one with me at any given time, but these are from Google and they truly capture the unbelievable beauty of this incredible place. They don't need any words from me, just enjoy the beauty! Click on any of the shots to embiggen and see more detail.

My God Sylvia, the place is too beautiful to be real. Thank you for sharing these photos and post!
For years my sister has lived in Oregon and I've lived in Ireland. Between repeated invitations of "you come here" and "no, you come here", we've only met in the middle on the US east coast. But after a year or so of seeing your beautiful photos and hearing about your days, I think I just might be the one who gives in! I always want to see my sister; now I want to see her state.
ummm... now, can you lend me some money for plane tickets?
;-)
Love Japanese gardens - the first photo of the tree in the series is spectacular: I can imagine using that as a basis for a family tree record......so much more expressive.
They are all beautiful, but the first image is one of the most powerful I've seen for a long time!
Wow, I'm impressed. The first photo with the pervading red colors is amazing, and all the photos are beautiful.
Once there I don't think I would or could leave....absolutely stunning and peaceful.
Blessings
Absolutely gorgeous! The Japanese really do have an eye for beauty. Wish my gardens looked like those.
My eyes just drank that all in! What an amazing place!!
Gorgeous photos! I do love Japanese gardens. The one in San Francisco is so lovely too.

Sylvia! These photos are breath taking, especially the red trees! Autumn is a great season... if the sun shines! Thank you for your visit and nice comment.

What a lovely place - I keep meaning to visit those gardens, but never remember when I'm in the area.
What a beautiful garden. Your shots are fantastic. I've always loved the style of Japanese gardens.

Well.... I'm totally blown away, Sylvia! This garden is spectacular and you've really captured their beauty beautifully.
Oh I wish i could see Portland in the fall. I've seen it in late spring and the entire Oregon it seems was green, so green, so refreshing.
You're right, words are not needed, the place is simply stunning.
They look so good at this time of year. Not all outdoor attractions keep the year round quality.
It looks like a piece of heaven - it's absolutely beautiful. Definitely a place I'd like to visit.
hello Sylvia,
Those are very beautiful pictures. Just trying to imagine how nice it would be to spend some time there.
I didn't share My World today because I'm trying to catch up on weekend blog visits after falling behind, but I'm glad I visited here today because these photographs of this Japanese Garden are stunning! Thanks for visiting my Peace Post yesterday at Sacred Ruminations and for spreading the word today.
Hugs and blessings,
I love FALL-the brightness and gaiety of the last color before winter comes...
What a gorgeous place. The colors are awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Wow the colors of the trees are amazing. What a magnificent Japanese garden. We have one here but I have never been there. I guess its time I checked it out...
Thanks for the wonderful views, Sylvia.
I had no idea today is world peace day. You certainly showed us a peaceful place.
Had to come back! Your colors are amazing.
A gorgeous garden and the fall colors are brilliant.
OMG! Those pictures are so beautiful. I love the colors.
Have a peaceful day.
Peaceful shots!
What a beautiful place!
Unbelievable place. Something I will see only in photographs.
At first I thought you had somehow mutated in to National Geography-level photographer but apparently that is not the case.
Amazingly beautiful photos, the Japanese gardens are just perfect, and so peaceful.
Your first photo is the most spectacular I have seen in awhile.
very pretty indeed!
Oh my - that garden is truly gorgeous, stunning - and serene. I think I want to move in there and never leave!
Oh my goodness - the autumn colours are breathtakingly beautiful!
What a beautiful place!
I just found your blog and am in awe of the nature your eyes saw. When I lived in Belize, I was captivated by the Caribbean and the sky, and plants and birds. Truly amazing what nature can give to us.
This is so beautiful. I love those colors.
Sylvia,
Too beautiful for words. Portland is on my list of places to see because of the gardens. You've made me want to visit even more.
wow absolutely beautiful. Will have to make oregon on my to travel to list :)

Gorgeous. That's all I have, is a point and shoot. My photos are essentially snapshots, which I try to take care with. Time for an upgrade, though. I'm looking into it!
I would love to see that Japanese garden and take a million pictures!
I've been there a couple of times, and can't ever see too much of it.
