That's My World -- Japanese Garden - Portland

Remember today is World Peace Day!

Come share your world with us! That's My World is hosted each week by Klaus, Sandy, Ivar, Wren, Fishing Guy and Louise! Click here to sign up, join the fun and show us what is beautiful and unique to your world.

When I lived in Portland one of the breathtaking places I loved to visit was the Japanese Gardens. As you know, I had nothing but a point and click in those days and rarely had even that one with me at any given time, but these are from Google and they truly capture the unbelievable beauty of this incredible place. They don't need any words from me, just enjoy the beauty! Click on any of the shots to embiggen and see more detail.

My God Sylvia, the place is too beautiful to be real. Thank you for sharing these photos and post!

For years my sister has lived in Oregon and I've lived in Ireland. Between repeated invitations of "you come here" and "no, you come here", we've only met in the middle on the US east coast. But after a year or so of seeing your beautiful photos and hearing about your days, I think I just might be the one who gives in! I always want to see my sister; now I want to see her state.

ummm... now, can you lend me some money for plane tickets?

Love Japanese gardens - the first photo of the tree in the series is spectacular: I can imagine using that as a basis for a family tree record......so much more expressive.

They are all beautiful, but the first image is one of the most powerful I've seen for a long time!

Wow, I'm impressed. The first photo with the pervading red colors is amazing, and all the photos are beautiful.

Oh I wish i could see Portland in the fall. I've seen it in late spring and the entire Oregon it seems was green, so green, so refreshing.

You're right, words are not needed, the place is simply stunning.

They look so good at this time of year. Not all outdoor attractions keep the year round quality.

I didn't share My World today because I'm trying to catch up on weekend blog visits after falling behind, but I'm glad I visited here today because these photographs of this Japanese Garden are stunning! Thanks for visiting my Peace Post yesterday at Sacred Ruminations and for spreading the word today.
Hugs and blessings,

Unbelievable place. Something I will see only in photographs.

At first I thought you had somehow mutated in to National Geography-level photographer but apparently that is not the case.

Your first photo is the most spectacular I have seen in awhile.

I just found your blog and am in awe of the nature your eyes saw. When I lived in Belize, I was captivated by the Caribbean and the sky, and plants and birds. Truly amazing what nature can give to us.

This is so beautiful. I love those colors.

Gorgeous. That's all I have, is a point and shoot. My photos are essentially snapshots, which I try to take care with. Time for an upgrade, though. I'm looking into it!

I would love to see that Japanese garden and take a million pictures!

I've been there a couple of times, and can't ever see too much of it.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
