Evening, Wisdom and Beauty

The antidote for fifty enemies is one friend. ~Aristotle

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit. ~Albert Schweitzer

A loyal friend laughs at your jokes when they're not so good, and sympathizes with your problems when they're not so bad. ~Arnold H. Glasgow

I need more antidote...

You have a new waterfall. Some people see lots of them while I see none.

As before, your post prompted me to go down old paths. I read a short bio of Albert Scwiezer in Wikipedia. Wow! There was quite an incredible guy. It has filled my head with all kinds of ideas. Thanks for the stimulus!

Love your evening wisdom. But I encounter a lot of losers in Vegas - maybe Albert Schweitzer traveled in different circles. Not that many inspiring people here.

I really really love those quotes. Especially about being able to grow without growing apart. There are so few true friends. Big smile to you for posting something so beautiful :-)

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
