Sky Watch Friday!

Another week, another marvelous look at skies from all over the world! Sky Watch Friday is hosted each week by Klaus, Sandy, Ivar, Wren, Fishing Guy and Louise. Click here to sign up and share the beauty of your skies with us!

We've had beautiful weather the past few days, very warm, blue skies. But late in the afternoon on Monday some soft, pastel clouds began to move in and as the evening moved on and the sun dropped lower the colors became more vivid and voila! another beautiful sunset!!

This shot was taken of the same area, just fifteen minutes later. The shape of the clouds were almost identical, just the colors had changed, deepened.

Sylvia! Your skies show the beauty of the setting sun. We are having beautiful weather too but it's so dry that some of my hydrangeas are almost dead. Anyway I hope that we will never experience such a sand storm as they had in Australia.
Have a great weekend.

Beautiful sunset Sylvia. Our days start out promising but by lunch all h... has broken loose and we are lucky if we can see the horizon by dusk. The usual rule of thumb here is if it is nice in Vancouver/Victoria it will be stormy here.

P.S. I just caught up on your posts...thank you for making my days happy and peaceful.

Love the colors in your setting sun. So romantic.
We have been having some rain with clouds most of the week.
I'm funny, I think, cause I love cloudy rainy days. We lived in California for a time with few rainy days. My oldest son used to wish all the time for rainy days so that he could have an excuse to read. Always music to a mothers ear, to hear your child wish for time to read!
Have a great weekend coming up pal!

Look, up in the sky!
It's a cloud!
No, it's an "S"!
Super Sylvia to the rescue!

Sorry hon I just couldn't help it. The S does make for a lovely sky! LOL

Very beautiful! Those first two look so alike. I wonder how far apart they were.

Incredible succession of clouds. The swirling reminded me of my old finger painting days!

Wow, it's amazing the cloud's shape hadn't changed in 15 mins, but the colors so different. Gorgeous sunsets over the Sound Sylvia.

Have a great weekend.

Beautiful sunset, but the difference between the first two is amazing - almost identical except for the colours. Presumably a very still, calm evening with no breeze at all.

I cannot say that our skies in Sydney have been fine this week: especially with the dust storm.

However, your sunsets are delicious, my friend.

Sylvia, - lovely photos. The sky changes colour so quickly and you have captured beautifully.

I think you can charge admission on your deck to view the sky.

I'd bring a bottle from Napa if you'd let me watch these lovelies from your deck.

Any one of these would have made a great Skywatch post. So many beautiful skies in one post is a real treat.
I just had a memory of the smell of burning wood and the damp forests of the Pacific Northwest. You live in a great place.

I really like the pastel skies you seem to see so often. And I have always believed Seattle was one rainy day after another. I'm learning so much as I blog.

The clouds look as though they were playfully painted on the sky with a huge brush. And, I love how the shapes and colors change.
