Ruby Tuesday

Welcome to Ruby Tuesday! Hope you'll join us!
This week was supposed to be red signs, but due to the weather I haven't been able to get out to look for some. So, I thought each of these were signs in their own way.

A Ruby Red Christmas tribute to the men who have given their lives for our country. A friend of mine sent me this photo. I thought it was a good time/place to share it.

Rest easy, sleep well my brothers.
Know the line has held, your job is done.
Rest easy, sleep well.
Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held.
Peace, peace, and farewell...

I don't often enjoy tears. But, these felt good. They fell gently on my heart as they rolled down my cheeks.

What a lovely tribute! Such tender and true words.

Thank you Sylvia.

Great Tribute. I remember when I went to Arlington Cemetry and it hit home to me how many brave and beautiful people gave up their lives for their country. Everyone needs to see this - it hits you right between the eyes and through the heart. What a waste of young lives and how many families were impacted forever.

Seeing all of those gravesites makes me sad. But also for the loved ones left behind grieving the loss of a loved one. I lost a 21 year old brother in the Navy when I was 17. Probably the reason for my perspective about the family. Now there is even more war than a week ago. God help us all.

That is powerful and humbling.

That's a sobering reminder of the cost of freedom.

Excellent photo and words, Sylvia.

Lovely photo and poem. Hopefully we will stop needing such graves and such poems.

A moving and beautiful tribute.

May they rest in peace,
and may we learn the lessons that they would have us know...

Peace and love to you my friend,

Maithri

Sylvia, this is as beautiful as it is terrible.

Someone did as nice a job producing that image as you did bringing it to us.

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
