"Life is too short to wake up with regrets..."

There comes a point in your life when you realize:
Who matters,
Who never did,
Who won't anymore...
And who always will.
So, don't worry about people from your past,
There's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
Give these flowers to everyone you don't want to lose in 2009,

Be kinder than necessary
because everyone you meet is fighting
some kind of battle.

Great post! Thanks. I love irises - they're our state flower.

My grandchildren call me Grammy, too. :-)

Sylvia, I like your post! The magnificent flower and the beautiful text. I like to copy that and store it somewhere, if you don't mind. It's so true.

It would be nice to see 60 again...at 73. But, yes, the words were very appropriate.

Those flowers are just beautiful. They make me think of spring and I am surely ready for it. This post is so true. We should not have regrets.

Great advice. I will be 60 in June...any words of wisdom?

I read these words before, either from you or some other source of wisdom - to be kind because everyone is fighting some kind of battle. That was an eye opener for me, and a reminder of what I learned while working as a literacy coach with teachers -we all have fears, and fear is the number one reason for not wanting to change. It takes support to overcome fears, not edicts.

Linda,
A friend sent this to me and I had read it before, too, but thought it was well worth posting as a reminder that I knew I could use and hoped someone else might find it helpful.

I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
