Evening, Wisdom and Beauty

Forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it. ~Mark Twain

In my friend, I find a second self. ~Isabel Norton

To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.
~Lewis B. Smedes

What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies. ~Aristotle

The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

I like the photos and the words on forgiveness, specially the one about the prisoner being yourself, very true.

I think most of the time I stay out of jail although I sometimes cannot find the key to the handcuffs.

I love that gorgeous dew kissed rose. It's true about being a prisoner to hatred or anger.

I love and feel this quote to be so important for so many in life. Instead of facing something and acknowledging an issue or a problem, we often repress it and want to forget instead of to forgive where it released, and therefore frees up our Hearts and Minds to feel fresh and brand new again.

This sentence of Lewis B. Smedes stayed most also to my mind from your post, Sylvia.
You have found right words and beautiful photos, thank you!

Forgiveness and friendship - I guess you need a lot of the former to maintain the latter.

Gandgi is right, except I'd take it further - secure people don't take offense easily, therefore there's nothing to forgive.

Lovely thoughts and pictures.

...The Silver spred on this magnificient sea in this calm moment.......HEAVENLY BEAUTIFUL....
I'm curious if a little further away turning right you will see the white sails of a silent boat...?
THIS photo of the blue-silver sea is my favourite; full of beauty the other pictures too, a big joy to admire them....!!!!

Have a wonderful day, dear Sylvia!

Beautiful shots! The small waterfall reminds me of college days when we would hike up to the jungle (owned by the school) with our pack lunch to be refreshed by nature after a hard week's study.

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
