Evening, Wisdom and Beauty
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen. ~Winston Churchill
The great man is he who does not lose his child's-heart. ~Mencius, Book IV
Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow. ~Mary Anne Radmacher
It is curious that physical courage should be so common in the world and moral courage so rare. ~Mark Twain
A golden moment
A dark world,
killings,
bombings of innocents,
because
they look different
and speak odd.....
Cover the face,
they'd demand,
the body too;
lest lashes be
in your future,
publicly....
And one day,
she ran,
hiding,
trembling,
reaching
for another shore.
She shudders
at the memory,
terrified,
her long hair
stiff,
standing on edge...
But she is now safe,
amidst the green
pines, cones,
and a warm fireplace.
She pulls
the blinds open,
a sliver of light,
rests on her face,
and she takes
a deep, thankful
breath,
looking
through her tresses,
with hope,
on the sun,
coming up,
to brighten
a new day,
again....

So, like a forgotten fire, a childhood can always flare up again within us.
~Gaston Bachelard
Sometimes even to live is an act of courage. ~Lucius Annaeus Seneca, Letters to Lucilius
One of the virtues of being very young is that you don't let the facts get in the way of your imagination. ~Sam Levenson

Thanks for the beautiful pictures and great quotes. I especially like the one from Winston Churchill.
I like the Winston Churchill quote on courage as well...I wish more people thought along those lines.
I love that Sam Levenson quote. That was so my son in his teenage years.
The very young and their flow of thoughts is a constant source of wonder.
Excellent cloud balls at #3. The graphic editing did them good and it is a real feast for me.
Love the quote from W. Churchill. Have a great week ahead!
Another beautiful captures and post!
Have great weekend dear Sylvia.

Many of us build upon our lives with the idea of accumulating facts that takes us on a voyage of subtle change. But the fact is.....a fact is only a fact if we have become lost and embedded in such knowledge. The knowledge then owns us. When we know ourselves outside of knowledge, then we can use it to take us to many differing places of feeling. Once felt, we can drop the idea and explore new ideas and totally new perspectives in living life as a human that was meant to BE.
First time here Ma'am
Pictures are truly splendid. Nature is so amazing that we tend to forget ourselves.

Beautiful pink sky in that first one!
Love this quote:

Beautiful (as always) and thought-provoking too. Love the Churchill and the Levenson quote best today and have put the pair of them on post-its near my computer ... just because. I got carried away while sharing 'tamale-making' at Sacred Ruminations yesterday afternoon and evening ... and this morning I'm hoping to catch up on blog visits before the day actually begins ... just a couple of blessings of this retired life ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
I like the first photo. Btw, Happy New Year (belated)..
Absolutely gorgeous post!
Very nice set of photos!
